Meet our Head Instructor

Ms. Skippy Mardon has over thirty years experience. She has a B.A. in music from the University of Maine and a Masters of Music degree from the University of Massachusetts (1967) as well as additional training in Kindermusik and Suzuki methods. She is a church organist and choir director. Membership in professional organizations includes the Nova Scotia Registered Music Teachers’ Association, Royal Canadian College of Organists and the Maritime Fiddling Association.

Skippy has been teaching since 1967. Her primary interest is piano, and in her Halifax studio she also teaches, violin/fiddle, piano accordion, church organ, beginning guitar, rudiments/theory, and composition.

Since 1976, Skippy has entered students in the Nova Scotia Kiwanis Music Festival where she has also participated as parent, competitor and Board Member. Her students have won many prizes over the years. Skippy Mardon has been a church organist and choir director in Anglican/Episcopal and Baptist churches for many years and presently serves as music director at Mulgrave Park Baptist Church in Halifax
